How to replace the cabin air filter on Kia Rio from 2012 – 2016. This DYI tutorial is for owners of third generation of Kia Rio from years 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 facelift. We will teach you how to replace the cabin air filter by yourself.
Here are the steps to locate and replace the cabin air filter on Kia Rio 3rd generation:
- Locate the cabin air filter on Kia Rio
The cabin air filter on Kia Rio is located in the glove box.
Sit on the front passenger seat and empty the content of the glove box.
The cabin filter access cover is a rectangular form and is located behind the glove box.
You have to remove the glove box. There are 2 plastic screws on each side of the glove box. You have to remove them.
After that, the glove box will slip down and you will see the cabin air filter access cover on your Kia Rio 3rd generation.
- Replace the cabin air filter on Kia Rio
Remove the cover of the cabin air filter. Pull out the cabin air filter from the cover. Remember the direction of the filter before you remove it from the cover.
The filter should be oriented with the Air Flow arrow pointing down.
Insert the new filter in the plastic frame.
Slide the new cabin air filter in the housing.
Re-insert the cover on the housing and check if is secured.
Install back the glove box and put back the content.
Changing the cabin air filter is important for your health because it reduces the airborne irritants such as dust or pollen. The air circulates through the cabin and is being filtered by the cabin air filter. Make sure that your are changing the cabin air filter on your Kia Rio according to your owner manual.
