    1. Hi,

Starting with model from 2003 year, the cabin air filter on the glove box compartment is no longer available as a factory option. They redesign the HVAC system and there is no space provided for the filter. Although the spare parts catalog shows that there is a replacement filter available, there is no cabin air filter on 2004 year model.

  1. Any ideas on how to get rid of the dusty odor in my 2003 GMC SIERRA? Since this particular model doesn’t have an air filter. I’m not getting any cold air now, don’t know if it is because of the dibris formed into the ac system.

    1. Try to clean your AC ventilation system.
To do this you need to buy A/C Vent Odor Cleaner Spray then turn on on maximum and push the “recirculate” button.
Spray this in all you vent from the exterior (bellow windshield whippers) and interior.
      Thanks

      1. Why does auto parts store carry cabin filter for 2012 a GMC Serria ex cab. 4×4? I can Not locate it!

        1. I just went through the same thing. there is a place under the glove box that is perfect size for air filter but they built the truck without one that you replace. they do make a kit that you can retro fit one in that spot by cutting the cover off.

  2. I’m at a loss trying to find my cabin air filter and now beginning to think there is not one in the system. Need your expertise, 2000 K3500 SLE dually.

  3. Would a clogged cabin air filter by the feet cause only cold air to blow through the vent? My feet freeze in the passenger side even though heat is turned on . This is a baaaaad problem travelling in cold winter temperatures.

I have watched the videos on replacing them but have not seen anything on my truck model. Could you please email me with some instructions. I went a local auto parts store and they googled it but it never went into my year or model or exactly where it is located or how to remove the old one and replace it with a new one. Call the dealer and give them you vin #. I gave them myh vin for my 2012 hd2500 4×4 and they told me I have a space for a filter but I need to but spend $100.00 on two parts that are a retro fit because the factory built out trucks with a closed cabin filter design. (stupid!!!)
Any way I am going to wait for some crappy air in my cabin then I might think about ! SO far my air smells fine.

      1. They are exactly right. 05 Sierra. No way to get the filter out. I can see it through the blower motor resistor opening and it is beyond filthy! There should be a lawsuit over this!
