This is how you can change the cabin air filter on your Nissan Murano, the model produced in the years 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. This is actually a very simple process, that you can make in less than 10 minutes, using only a small flat blade screwdriver.
The cabin air filter on this model of car is located on the passenger’s side of the cockpit, behind the glove box. It is sealed in an air box, as you can see in the picture below.
Now, in order to access this filter you will have to open the front door on the passenger’s side, then open the glove box and get your hands inside it. Here you will have to remove two plastic tabs that hold the lid of a small air box, where the filter is located (see image below).
These tabs should be pulled from their lower section somehow and released. After you deal with them, you will get access to the filter. Now, in order to remove it and replace it, you will have to pull it out, but the task can be tricky in some cases. If you find it difficult to pull it out with your fingers, you can use the tip of a flat blade screwdriver or another sharp tool, pierce the filter and get it out. The new filter can be installed very easily. You just have to insert it inside the air box, seal it with the lid and you should be ready to go.
Why is necessary to replace the cabin air filter regularly? This particular filter cleans the air that enters your car through the ventilation and air-conditioning systems. It stops the dust, the pollen, the bad smell and other aerial impurities that can make riding in a car unpleasant, especially if you have allergies or other respiratory problems.
