How to change the air filter on Chevy Venture 1997-2005

DIY, change the air filter on your Chevy Venture, the model produced between the years 1997 and 2005. The replacement process shown below is similar on many other minivans made by General Motors. Servicing the air filter on this car is basically the same as any 1997 to 2005 Chevy Venture, Pontiac Montana or Silhouette.

On these cars, the air filter is located on the driver’s side of the engine compartment, in an air box, as you can see in the image below.

In order to remove and replace the air filter, you will not require tools. In some cases, a pair of pliers is needed, if you cannot remove the metal clips by hand. So, to get to the filter, you will have to detach the two metal clips shown in the picture below. They seal the air box that holds this filter.

After you unlatch those clips, you will be able to pull up the intake hose (see next picture). Hold the filter in for the moment, pull up the intake hose, until you have enough space to remove the filter. Install a new, compatible one and reinstall the intake carefully. Seal the filter with the lid of the air box and secure it with the two metal clips, and that should be it.

Why is necessary to change the air filter on your car? Modern engines consume a lot of air in order to function properly, so the air filter is an important part of your car. A clean air filter allows just the right amount of air into our vehicles engine and also traps the dirt that can harm it. Changing the air filter will save you time, money and wear on vital engine components.
