Changing the air filter on your Toyota Avensis 2003 – 2009 is an important job of the maintenance schedule because the air filter reduces the dust and impurities entering through the ventilation system that goes into the cabin. The air filter should be replaced according to the owner manual or at 16000 km if you live in a dusty area. You can replace the air filter on Toyota Avensis 2003-2009 by yourself and here is a DYI tutorial:

  1. Locate the air filter:

The air filter on Toyota Avensis 2003-2009 is located under the hood, on the left side of the vehicle, as you can see in the picture.

There are 2 clippers which held the cover on the air filter. You have to slowly push them in the open position. Then carefully lift up the cover. There are some electrical wires on the cover. Be careful not to damage them.

  1. Replace the air filter:

Remove the used air filter. Check inside the air filter’s cover to see if there is no dust or sand.

Insert the new air filter. Check to see if is arranged in the right position.

On the other end of the air filter cover there are 2 joints (see the picture). You have to connect them in order to close the cover.

Secure the 2 clippers in the close position.

Air filter improves the quality of the air inside your car. This is important for your health and must be replaced frequently.
